Yellowjackets
"Yellowjackets" is a gripping and intense television show that premiered on Showtime in 2021. The show follows a girl's high school soccer team whose plane crashes in the wilderness when they are on the way to their tournament. As they struggle to stay alive, the girls begin to descend into madness and cannibalism. The show also switches back and forth between the girls in the wilderness and the girls in present day. The grown girls try and work through their intense trauma that they faced in the wilderness. The series is the perfect mix of horror, psychological thriller, and mystery.
Yellowjackets (TV Series 2021– ) - IMDb
The teenage characters, portrayed by Sophie Nelisse, Sophia Thatcher, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sammi Hanratty, each bring a unique perspective to the groups dynamic. My favorite character out of the teenagers is Laura Lee. Laura Lee is the token "too nice and a little dumb" friend out of the group and I just think that she is the glue that holds the group together. My favorite characters out of the girls as grownups is Misty. Misty really annoyed me when she was in the wilderness but as a grownup she just simply wants to be loved and wants to hold the girls together. In my opinion I think she took the spot of Laura Lee being the glue.

I started this show going into it completely blind, I hadn't heard much about the show and simply watched it because it was new on Netflix. Season 1 is the only season on Netflix which made me think that there were no other seasons. I flew through season 1 and when I researched the show, I was shocked to find that there were 2 more seasons on Paramount. Currently, I am half-way through season 2, this show really has a way of sucking you in. When I watch this show it feels impossible to stop watching. Season 3 just came out on February 14th so there has been a lot of hype and talk about the new season. I would recommend this show to everyone who is interested in psychological thrillers.
